Every NSW DET school is to be fitted with a 'Connected Classroom'. This is a room that includes a Tandberg Video Conference system, a Sanyo Ultra Short Throw projector, a LG LCD panel, an IWB and a PC in a rack.
From phase 4 onwards, all Connected Classroom installations are to be installed with a CommBox Control system.
This will simplify the use of the equipment by providing easy one touch control whilst ensuring that users cannot leave the system in an unusable state.
The CommBox control system is smart and knows if the room becomes empty. If the equipment is left on unattended, the CommBox control system will turn the equipment off, saving energy and expensive items such as the projector lamp, LCD screen etc.
Schools who were in phase 1-3 and already have their Connected Classroom fitted will be able to have the CommBox control system installed via their discretionary spend.
